Founder and Head Instructor

Action. Adventure. Archery. These three A’s perfectly summarize Patricia Gonsalves’ life. Born on the Caribbean island of Barbados, Patricia spent her formative years travelling and living on boats. It was during this time that she developed her love of the art of archery, all thanks to a green-clad archer and his merry men. With literary heroes like Robin Hood, Ivanhoe, and the White Company, Patricia pursued her passion for archery throughout her academic career, incorporating the art into all aspects of her education.

Drawing on her love of travel and history, Patricia went on to study archery around the world, meeting and training with expert historians, bowyers, and archers in such locations as Turkey, Italy, and Hungary. With over 30 years of experience and training, Patricia specializes in ancient and traditional archery weapons, tools, and techniques. She now teaches the theories, styles, and techniques of ancient, traditional and historical archery to students at her own archery school, Lykopis Archery. In addition to passing along her knowledge to the next generation of traditional archers, Patricia also promotes accurate Hollywood portrayals of archers in her role as archery consultant for the popular television series “Arrow”, as well as other shows listed in her IMDB profile.

Louise fisk

Horse Archery Coordinator and Instructor

Louise has been riding horses since she was a child in New Zealand, and started learning modern archery as a teenager. She has over 23 years of experience training in martial arts (including a 5th Dan black belt in Wado-Kai Karate, and a 1st Dan black belt in Matayoshi Kobudo), as well as over 19 years of experience teaching martial arts. Lou has spent time as an exercise rider and stablehand of racehorses, a stunt performer for film and television, and has trained in both English and Western riding. She has been an Instructor and the Horse Archery Coordinator at Lykopis Archery for more than two years, learning historical horse archery techniques with Patricia.

Briana Hedge

Horsemanship Coach

Briana is the Horsemanship Coach and partner for our Lykopis Historical Horse Archery program. Briana is the Manager and Head Coach of the Grene Wode Manor Farm. She has a varied but deep background in all riding disciplines including English and Western equitation, and various performance and martial disciplines, as well as carriage driving. She has been teaching and training for 30+ years, and has showed to national levels in dressage. She teaches an evidence-based horsemanship methodology, and emphasises an understanding of the essential nature of the horse in order to facilitate a safe and communicative partnership.
